Snickerdoodles
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups plus 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
Heat the oven to 400° F.
Cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Beat in the eggs. Gradually add the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Combine the cinnamon and remaining 2 Tablespoons of sugar in a small bowl. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in the cinnamon and sugar. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes.
